Nature
Nature
Flying into the Paro Valley to Bhutan’s only international airport, you will witness the perfect harmony of Bhutan’s landscape: endless forest, snow-capped mountains, and lush green valleys as far as the eye can reach. Experience the energizing feeling of breathing in clean, fresh high-altitude air and rediscover stillness. This is nature as it is meant to be.
The black-necked cranes
Set in central Bhutan, the wide glacial valley of Gangtey is one of the Kingdom’s most striking destinations. Extremely diverse, the sacred and protected area is home to some of the most exotic and rare wildlife species, including the globally endangered black-necked cranes that arrive every year from the Tibetan Plateau.
Go for a stroll, follow the water
In the Paro and Punakha Valley you can make long walks just following the river sides.
Some wild water action
Rafting down the Mo Chhu river, navigating gentle rapids and calm stretches that reveal the valley’s pristine beauty from the water. Wild water rafting sessions need to be booked in advance, and depend on weather conditions.
Dochula Pass
Dochula Pass, located at an elevation of 3,100 metres, is one of Bhutan’s most picturesque mountain passes, offering stunning panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas. Situated between Thimphu and Punakha, this serene pass is decorated with 108 chortens (stupas), known as the Druk Wangyal Chortens, built in honour of Bhutanese soldiers. The pass is not only a place of breathtaking natural beauty but also a site of deep spiritual significance. On clear days, visitors can marvel at the majestic peaks of the Eastern Himalayas, making Dochula Pass a must-visit destination for those seeking tranquillity and a profound connection with Bhutan’s natural and cultural heritage.

Plant a tree
At Lampeiri Park, in the Punakha Valley, in partnership with Green Bhutan, you can plant a tree sapling as a mindful act of renewal and connection with the earth; a small placard bearing your name will mark the spot, allowing you to return in the years ahead to see your tree fully grown—a living legacy of your wellness journey in Bhutan.
