National Museum of Bhutan - dive into history
The National Museum of Bhutan is situated in the old watch tower of the Paro Dzong. Ancient thangka paintings, ritual masks, and archival photographs reveal how Bhutanese art encodes myth, lineage, and spiritual teachings. A curator-led walkthrough highlights symbolic motifs—dragons, lotus blooms, and protective deities—each with a tale to tell.
Punakha Dzong - house of power
The Punakha Dzong, the oldest and possibly the most beautiful Dzong of Bhutan. It used to be the place where the religious and lay government seated, nowadays the government houses in Thimphu, the capital.

Shopping with the locals
Both in Paro and Thimphu, the farmer’s markets have been renovated, and are now open to the public. It is a colorful place to visit, and to see and taste what the local farmers grow and sell.
Paro town
Paro, a town rich in history and spirituality, is surrounded by picturesque, terraced paddy fields and charming farmhouses. It boasts an astonishing 155 temples and monasteries, some dating back to the 14th century, making it one of Bhutan’s most exceptional destinations.
Tiger's Nest Monastery
Situated in the Paro Valley, the Tiger’s Nest is the most iconic monastery in Bhutan. The hike to the top takes an effort, but its definitly worth it.
Souvenirs to take home
In Paro and Thimphu, numerous shops are selling handmade products, varying from laptop bags to yak wool blankets. Art galleries sell ancient and more modern paintings, sculptures, and woodwork. The export of Bhutanese made Bhuddas require a special export permit.
Dress-up like a local
All hotels during your journey, will offer you the opportunity to dress in traditional Bhutanese clothing… and turn it into a photoshoot, creating a life-long memory.
Education
If you have a special interest in education, we can arrange for a meeting with some teachers or a visit to a specific school. This needs to pre-arranged with the local authorities.
Rinpung Dzong in Paro
Rinpung Dzong, Paro’s iconic fortress-monastery, where architecture becomes the narrative. Health & medicine
In Bhutan, modern medicine and traditional medicine operate next to each other. The University of Traditional Medicine in Thimphu offers a 6-year education to a very small and selective group of people. We can arrange for an introductory talk about Traditional Medicine and meetings with some traditional medicine doctors. During your journey you will have a personal consultation with a Traditional Medicine Doctor, and can experience some – 100% herbal based – wellness treatments
The capital Thimphu
Thimphu, the capital, is a beacon of Bhutanese culture. It’s a place where traditional art, architecture, and Buddhist customs thrive. Despite being the country’s most modern city, Thimphu still embraces the unique essence of Bhutanese life. Here, here you can visit cafes and restaurants while surrounded by fortresses, monasteries, and lush forests. There is even some night life!
